SECOND RUN! Theory/ Co-Creator, In Theory: Notes on Love, Home, Diaspora, and Failing Adulthood

  • WOW Cafe Theater 59-61 E 4th St #4 New York, NY 10003 (map)

Co-created with Jackie Torres and produced by the POC spoken word group, Cracked Binding, In Theory is a spoken word- dance fusion about converting the pain of our past into the resistance of our future.

Growing up is supposed to mean forgetting the past. Adulthood is supposed to be a rite of passage. Learning the language for your trauma is supposed to mean you can move on from it.

But what happens when the whole world seems to thrive on the structural violence that destroyed your family? What does it mean to acknowledge that maybe your entire lineage is a history of trauma? And what happens when the people you've been refuse to be left behind?
